If you purchased your home from Hamlet Homes and are just connecting to your XMission Internet service, following are instructions to get you going:
For your information, a complementary Internet router and NAT firewall (TRENDnet 4-port cable/DSL broadband router) has been installed in your service panel to convert the single Internet port provided by XMission to four ports, making all jacks in your home active. This device is considered “Customer Premises Equipment” (CPE). Per your Internet Service Agreement CPE devices (computers, laptops, routers, switches, etc.) are not covered by technical support from XMission or Elsinore except for basic connectivity issues. The TRENDnet router is not a wireless router. You can replace this router with a wireless router if you desire, but you will need to call XMission technical support to have the replacement router registered on your account. The TRENDnet router is not covered by your homeowner’s warranty, it has a one-year warranty from TRENDnet. Their 24/7 support number is 1-866-845-3673. |
